Olimpia Davies
Hi I’m Olimpia!

A few words about me
Before my photography career I graduated with master of degree in Geology and Geomorphology and for many years I was working as a chemistry analyst in an environmental laboratory.
When I left my work for maternity leave, I decided that I want to change my career. I always had a love for food and my first thought was that I want my new career to be around the food industry.
In 2011 I started writing culinary blogs Baking Ideas and Bite on Green. Food has become my number one interest. I bought myself a camera and since then I never stopped photographing food. After a few years of blogging and working for food brands, in 2016 when I won in the bloggers’ category Pink Lady Photographer of the Year, I decided to stop writing my blogs and I started working full-time as a food photographer. I also realised that I’m a very gifted food stylist so I refined my styling techniques by working as a pastry chef de partie in a French restaurant.
I have art in my soul and this gives me an eye for composition and colours as well as exquisite attention to detail. Colours are my main drive, I concentrate on one colour and then I create my whole concept around it. It’s my secret to stay focused and the whole process it’s fascinating. Each colour I’m choosing to work with it’s giving me different emotions because I feel each colour differently and this allows me to create different moods and styles. That is why I don’t close myself to one style only.
My pictures tell a food story, I’m showing a beauty of the food in a very extraordinary way. All my work is about creating feelings and emotions thru styling and light. Using natural ingredients and light, I create food art. I’m a team player and I love working with clients on all projects.
At the moment I’m in house stylist in North West of England photography studio.
I’ve styled cook book Bake Yourself happy for The Great British Bake Off finalist. I photographed and styled a vegan cook book Intuitive Eating. I photographed and styled cook book Dual Cook Flex, Delicious Oven Recipes for Samsung. I’ve worked for magazines like Clean Eating, Moje Gotowanie, Sister Mag, 91 Magazine, Caboodle Magazine, Where Women Create, Walnut Magazine, Spring Plate Magazine, Green Canoe Magazine, Country&Town House.
I’ve photographed and styled for company like Samsung, Braun, Steelite, Cottage Delight, Bio&Me, Gelarto, Trwffl, Brynmor Foods and many more.
I’m a winner of Photography Category for the 8th Annual TASTE AWARDS in USA, winner of Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2016 in Food Bloggers Category in United Kingdom, winner of Countrywide Food Photography Competition for professionals 2015 in Poland.
